Marbella Madness
I've been in Marbella (well actually Puerto Banus) on a business and pleasure trip - a couple of days masterminding with some of the UK's top fitness coaches and also a few days hanging out by the pool soaking up some Vitamin D, relaxing and enjoying some time away.It wasn't all glamorous - for 2 long days I was shut in a basement room with 20 other fitness professionals.... we were so engrossed on what we were learning that during the lunchbreak when we surfaced to go outdoors I almost forgot we were in Spain!I thought I'd share a few of the tactics I used whilst I was there to feel good in my bikini when I was by the pool...1. I got up early every morning to EXERCISE or go for a power walk before breakfast. Some days I used the Ztrainer and Zbands, as well as steps and bodyweight for a metabolic workout (Sunday morning workout was MUCH gentler than the other days after a fun, late Saturday night)2. Drank loads of WATER and no alcohol during the day. It was funny to watch most people start on the beer and cocktails at lunchtime by the pool and gradually get louder and louder, but I just enjoyed icecold water. (Top tip - take all the contents of the mini bar out and replace with bottles of water from the Supermarket.) Yes I did enjoy a few glasses of wine most nights and some surprisingly strong sangria on Saturday night :(3. I drank my lean greens every morning - took some in a small container and mixed with water to alkalise and give my body a super boost of nutrients. Yes I did have wine or sangria most nights (especially on the Saturday) so my liver needed some help.4. At breakfast I chose fresh fruits, natural yoghurt, eggs, bacon and tomatoes rather than toast, pastries or sugary cereals. This meant that I was giving my body fibre, enzymes, minerals, vitamins, protein, some carbohydrate and fat to keep me full until the afternoon. I also drank water with my coffee rather than juice (which is just sugar really).5. I chose grilled fish or meat for dinner at night and tried to avoid the bread basket (didn't always succeed on that one)6. I WALKED when I could rather than take a taxi before and after dinner - cheaper and also felt better for getting moving.7. I SHARED a delicious gluten free chocolate cake one afternoon rather than having a whole one (although the fitness trainer I shared it with had eyed it up to have by herself to start with). This way a got a taste but not too much - simples!Have a great weekend and if you want to learn more ways to drop pounds, increase your energy and feel great join our next 4 week bootcamp in Bath that starts Monday.Zita
